Hospice Massage

Massage tailored to the needs of the hospice patient can be enormously helpful for pain control, relaxation, and alleviation of other problems, such as edema, lack of activity, and psychological coping.  Family assisting the hospice patient are usually stressed and preoccupied, and can forget that the simple addition of trained and gentle massage can greatly ease this transition.  It can be done in office or in home or hospice, depending on the patient.  Also, it is wise to remember that massage can help the support group in many ways.  A massage for a family member struggling to cope with this difficult time can really help!
